What exactly is The Chair?+
A browser-based business decision game. Each case puts you in charge of a company at a pivotal moment. You read evidence, choose a strategy, respond to crises, and review your reasoning alongside what actually happened. It takes about 15 minutes per case, depending on how deeply you read.
Can I really beat Elon Musk?+
You can choose a different strategy and see how it performs in our simulation. Your result is a modelled scenario, not proof that you would outperform a real CEO. The challenge is to make a strong decision with imperfect information, then learn from the trade-offs.
Do I need business experience?+
No. The case gives you the situation and the evidence you need. You can start with curiosity and build confidence as you go. It’s also a useful way to challenge assumptions if you already work in business.
What does my membership include?+
Contender includes 17 scenarios: Tesla and the first set of companies. The Chair includes all 51 scenarios. Both include evidence files, decision challenges, your decision record, and the historical outcome. Tesla opens first; later cases unlock as you finish earlier ones.
Why a membership?+
The Chair is a library you can work through and replay at your pace. Start with Tesla, then practice on different companies as they unlock. Your membership keeps the cases and saved decision records available while it is active. Choose monthly if you want to explore first; cancel future renewals when you are done. We do not promise a particular schedule of new cases.
Can I try it before I pay?+
Yes—try the two-decision preview on the homepage without an account or card. It shows a simplified production decision and customer response. Full cases require an active paid membership; there is no automatic free-trial subscription.
How do billing and cancellation work?+
Monthly plans renew monthly. Six-month plans are charged in full every six months. The exact amount is shown before payment. Cancel future renewals from Manage billing in your library; your access continues through the period you have already paid for.
What if it isn’t for me?+
You have 14 days from payment to request a refund. Email thechaircademy@gmail.com with the email used at checkout. You can also cancel future renewals anytime through Manage billing.
Can I play on my phone?+
Yes. The Chair runs in a modern browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. There is nothing to download. An internet connection is required.
Are the cases real? Is this AI?+
The cases are based on public business history. Dialogue, choices, consequences, and scores are designed for the simulation. AI may help frame a challenge or explain your decisions; it does not change the scoring rules. The companies and people portrayed are not involved in or endorsing The Chair.
