01. Your account & saved progress
THE Chair operates The Chair and is the data controller for the personal information we use to provide the game, manage accounts, and respond to support requests.
We use your email address and account identifier to sign you in, connect you to your membership, and help you recover access. Neon provides managed authentication and a Postgres database for account-linked records. For sign-in email, we use Neon’s delivery service or Resend. The delivery provider processes your recipient address and time-limited code to deliver the message.
Your case decisions, written explanations, completion state, and progress are saved to your account. Your browser may also keep a local copy of progress or cached game feedback. This lets you resume cases and unlock the next scenarios. Clearing browser storage does not cancel a subscription.
02. Payments
Stripe collects payment details and processes subscriptions, invoices, cancellations, and refunds. Purchases are sold through Link using Stripe Managed Payments. Link provides transaction emails, order management, and payment support, which can involve payment, contact, and order data. The Chair does not receive or store your full card number. We keep Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and billing status, and the access period associated with your account.
Payment records let us provide paid access and resolve billing issues. Stripe handles additional transaction and fraud-prevention data under its Privacy Policy.
03. Cookies & browser storage
Authentication cookies keep you signed in and help protect your account. Local storage can hold game progress and cached feedback; session storage can remember preview choices and campaign attribution during your visit.
If you arrive through a campaign link, parameters such as utm_source or an advertising click identifier may be stored for the session and attached to checkout metadata. We use these to understand which campaigns lead to memberships. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings; doing so may sign you out or remove local data.
04. Site activity & security
We count events such as starting the preview, viewing an offer, selecting a plan, signing in, and continuing to checkout. These aggregate funnel counts do not include email addresses, written answers, or a persistent browser identifier.
Our hosting and service providers process operational data, such as request information, network addresses, and error logs, to deliver the site and investigate problems. We also use temporary request-rate information derived from network addresses to limit abuse. This operational data is separate from the aggregate conversion counts.
05. AI-assisted feedback
When AI feedback is enabled, relevant case context, choices, and written explanations may be sent through OpenRouter to the model provider selected for the service. This helps produce a challenge or a review of your reasoning. The scoring rules remain part of the game rather than being decided by the AI.
We do not include your email or payment card details in the gameplay prompt. Do not put confidential or sensitive information in your answers. Requests are also subject to OpenRouter’s Privacy Policy and the applicable model provider’s practices. The game can use built-in feedback when AI is unavailable.
06. Who helps run the service
We use Vercel for hosting, Neon for authentication and database storage, Stripe for billing, and OpenRouter and its selected model provider for enabled AI feedback. These providers process the information needed for their respective functions. Data may be processed in countries other than the one where you live.
We do not sell your account details or written gameplay answers. If you email us for help, we use your message and related account information to respond and resolve the issue.
07. Retention & your choices
We keep account and progress records while needed to provide your account and membership. Billing, security, and support records may be retained when needed to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet applicable record-keeping obligations.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by emailing thechaircademy@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you. Some billing or legal records may need to be retained after an account is deleted. Cancel future billing separately through Manage billing or ask us to help with both requests.
Privacy rights depend on where you live and may include the right to object to or restrict certain processing, request a copy of your data, or contact your local data protection authority. We handle requests in accordance with applicable law.
